Umar Yakubu is a dedicated professional with extensive expertise in national security, criminal justice, and organized crime. His unwavering commitment to enhancing security and combating crime is demonstrated by his development of innovative technological tools specifically designed for use across the security and criminal justice sectors.
He has actively contributed to the implementation of the United Nations Convention on Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC), demonstrating his commitment to international efforts against illicit networks. He currently heads a significant programme focused on Organized Crime and Resilience, directly addressing the systemic challenges posed by criminal networks.
With a Ph.D. in Defence & Security Studies from the prestigious Nigeria Defence Academy and diverse other qualifications, Umar possesses extensive training in crime reduction. He applied this knowledge by conducting capacity building initiatives for various stakeholders within security and justice landscapes.
He leads Intelligensys & Strategies Ltd and the Counter Fraud Center, both focused on bolstering defenses against various threats to national security.
