Ayoka, a joyful Nigerian girl, celebrates family, culture, and identity in this heart-warming story for young readers.
For 12 years, I’ve had the joy of teaching children across Africa, watching their eyes light up as they share stories about themselves—their families, favorite foods, dreams, and homelands. Those precious moments with my students inspired me to write Ayoka—my first book for you.
I believe every child deserves to see themselves reflected in the stories they read. Ayoka was born from a desire to celebrate each child’s uniqueness while nurturing curiosity, self-awareness, and cultural pride.
Through Ayoka’s everyday experiences, young readers are encouraged to explore their own identities, emotions, and the world around them. This book is more than just a story—it’s an invitation for children to embrace who they are and find joy in the little things that make them special.
I hope Ayoka sparks meaningful conversations, playful discoveries, and deeper connections between children and their caregivers. I’ve always believed that books can light up a child’s world, revealing their strength and beauty. My wish is that Ayoka helps you feel proud of who you are, wherever you’re from.
