Dr. Folashade Umukoro is a Senior Registrar in the Department of Behavioural Medicine at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. She also serves as a facilitator at the Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability (QHSES) Leadership Academy, Lagos.
She earned her MBChB degree from the College of Medicine, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, and is a member of the West African College of Physicians, with a subspecialty in Psychiatry. Additionally, she is a certified trained counselor from the Attitude Development International College of Counselling and Psychotherapy in Lagos.
A passionate mental health advocate, Dr Folashade is committed to fostering a society that prioritizes mental well-being. She actively engages the public through her social media platforms and as a speaker and facilitator for various organizations. She is the founder of Wholesome Teens, a platform where she mentors and educates over 200 teenagers monthly on relevant issues and personal development.
Beyond her clinical and advocacy work, Dr Folashade is a singer and songwriter focused on mental health awareness. She is also an author and entrepreneur, trading in medical apparel. She is happily married and a proud mother of two.
