The Great Medicine Man

Ofeke is the wrestling champion of his village, Akiyi, but he has never embarked on any hunting expedition.  His pride and ambition pushes him to hunt in the dreaded forest of the gods at his mother’s village, Umueri.  Umueri elders warn him against this to no avail. Ofeke who disregards the elders encounters the rage of the gods, who teach him a bitter lesson. This exciting story dramatizes the ageless maxim that the voice of elders is the voice of wisdom.  The story of Ofeke reminds us that inordinate ambition and pride constitute the broadways to self-destruction.
