When Alimu passes the National Primary School Examination, his father takes him to the city to live with an aunt, his father’s only sister, to pursue his studies. His aunt, instead, subjects him to terrible mistreatment. After he falls apart with her, Alimu faces all the challenges life throws at him head-on until he achieves his dreams.

About the Author

Alieu Bundu is a Sierra Leonean writer and singer. His short stories have been published widely in Sierra Leone and other parts of the world. Two of his short stories, The Wretched Being, and The Riot, were published in the anthology, The African World in Dialogue: An Appeal to Action, and also his story, Kwerekwere, was published by the online magazine Lolwe. Alieu Bundu was nominated for the 2016 Writivisim Short Story Competition for his short story, Bintiya, now titled Miremba. In December 2021, Nipe Story made his Kwerekwere into a podcast. Educated at Sierra Leone’s Fourah Bay College, he holds a degree in French and English.
