Believing he can fly, the ten-year-old Ephraim jumps from a storey building. The three members of the Olorunyomi family experience this suicide differently. And has to navigate through it’s grief. They try to hold onto a sense of family, but the death in the family separates them, and then brings them together. Told through multiple first-person narratives, “Happiness is a Sickle Kinikan in my Belly” is one’s family search for happiness in the face of overwhelming forces.
