About the authors.
Olamide Fafemi grew up speaking both English and Yoruba fluently. She moved to the UK for further education where she qualified and is currently working as a Chartered Accountant. The birth of her daughter in London highlighted the importance of educating her kids about her roots. She is passionate about bringing up her kids to be proud and confident about the Nigerian heritage. Being a minority in the UK and the unfortunate racism experienced by her daughter at a young age further inspired her to share her passion with the world and introduce children to stories that are representative of the African culture and educate people to embrace diversity.
Oyinda Kazeem is a creative entrepreneur based in Lagos, Nigeria. She was born in Ilorin, Kwara State and has lived in a few cities in the UK and the USA before settling back in Lagos. She is an avid reader and a lover of Arts and Culture and has always had a dream to write a book someday. She became more interested in children’s literature following the birth of her son in 2018 and is passionate about exposing her children to books that are representative of their culture and tell the African story in a positive light.
