About the Author
Born on 2nd January 1942, in Mombol, he started his education at Junior Primary School, Pella, before moving to the Senior Primary School at Numan Training School Centre, both owned by the Sudan United Mission (Danish Branch).
In December 1955, Hananiya gained admission to Boys’ Secondary School, Gindiri in Plateau State, and in November 1960, he sat for the examination into the Nigerian Army at the Nigerian Military Training College, Kaduna, and passed. Hananiya later attended the Sandhurst Military Academy in the United Kingdom and the United States Army Engineering School in Fort Belvoir. A pioneer student at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Kuru, Hananiya retired from the army as a Major General after holding several strategic positions in both the military and foreign service. He is also a former Corps Marshall and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
