The Nightmare

The Nightmare tells the story of Ozoemena, a young university lecturer, who finds the spate of insurgencies and kidnappings in Nigeria, particularly South Eastern Nigeria, very disgusting and annoying. Unfortunately for him, he also turns out a victim of kidnap by a dreaded group whose identities are not known or how they operate or who are their associates or sponsors. Through the eyes of Ozoemena, these are revealed. Will Ozoemena regain his freedom or will he also be killed by this dreaded group responsible for most of the kidnappings done in the South Eastern Nigeria?
This is a novella that truly mirrors the Nigerian society and the ugly incidents happening there since 2015 till the time the book was written in December 2022. The focus is laid more on the South Eastern part of Nigeria because that’s where the author is from and lives in. The book has a map of South Eastern Nigeria on a preliminary page. Though the story is a work of imagination of the author, yet reflects the ills in Nigeria, focusing more on the present twenty-first century Igboland in Nigeria.

About the Author
Chukwuebuka Chibuzor Nwoye is a Nigerian writer and prolific author, who lives in Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/English from Imo State University, Nigeria, and a Master’s Degree in English Language Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is also a researcher, an adventurer, and a teacher of English Language and Literature in English. He speaks and writes in Igbo, Yoruba, and English Languages.
His poems and stories have appeared on the pages of “Nigeria Newspoint Newspaper”, and on webzines of “The African Street Writer”. His most recent Scientific Research article titled, “A Contrastive analysis of English and Igbo Segmental features: Implications in ESL Learning” was published in ‘International Journal of Linguistics, Literature and Translation’ by AL-KINDI CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, London, UK.
His recent books are “Jungle Justice and Other Stories”, published in October 2022 by Ifeadigo Publishing Company, and “The Nightmare” published in October 2023 by CCN WORLD Publishing Company Limited. The two books are on sale in Nigeria and on Amazon across the world.
