About the Author
Growing up in my little town in Jos, we would often sit out on mats under the moonlight with the kids on the street, taking turns to tell stories our parents had shared with us, which were always about animals and had to have a moral. I have always loved telling stories, sometimes even making them highly exaggerated! I also generally love art in all its forms.
I found myself creating and recreating those stories when I became a mum and fell utterly curious about what goes on in the minds of little children. On car rides, my son would constantly look out of the window and from nowhere, he’d blurt out statements like “mummy, why is the tree chasing us?” and would insist I looked out of the window at something he had asked me to see already the day before. It felt like the world was new each day as he stepped out! It took me right back to the memories of my own mum’s car. I couldn’t wait for any and every opportunity to get in, and particularly loved when she would take a deep turn at a roundabout and throw us in the opposite direction.
Such experiences and memories were what inspired our very first book, “The Back Seat of My Mama’s Car”.
The inspiration also came from reading several of our favorite children’s books, which have been transformed into creating our own.
I enjoy all types of growth, from a sprout of a seedling to watching my children grow from “dots” to having first words, to struggling to make sentences and to reading simple lines.
An avid reader myself, most times you will find me analyzing a financial statement, gardening, or enjoying a good time with family and friends.
