Somtochukwu and Dawn, the Medi-Fairy

The need to eat and live healthily has become even more important now than ever before. The risk of developing chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes, which were previously known as “diseases of adults,” is increasingly being identified in children.1 Lifestyle modifications, especially those involving food and play, are advocated for preventing the onset of these health challenges in childhood.2
I believe that when kids know what and how to eat and play, they will partner with mom and dad daily to make healthy choices for themselves. In this Medi-Tale, Somtochukwu’s organs teach him exactly what they need to be strong and healthy. It is an interesting ride with his guide, Dawn, a Medi-Fairy who came to help him.
