Udoka was raised in Enugu the famed Coal City where he was steeped in the sun, dust, and cultural vibrancy of his homeland. Through his upbringing, education, and life experiences, he has journeyed across the length and breadth of Igbo land, forging deep connections and gaining firsthand insight into the values and ideals that define his people. His life and work have taken him across Nigeria and into dialogue with Igbo communities at home and abroad, giving him a front-row seat to the evolving nature and enduring challenges of Igbo identity in a globalized world. It is this lived experience that inspired this book.
