OLÚMỌ: Shield in the Marvel Land, is a chronicle historical play about the adventures of the Ẹ̀gbá people aftermath 7 year-long Òwu war, the play relates the physical, economic, and spiritual significance of the Olúmọ Rock, and how the people of Ẹ̀gbá come to dwell under it.

OLÚMỌ presents Lámọdi, Ṣódẹkẹ́, Lúnlóyè, Agbó, Sómóyè, Ògúnbọ́nà, and other notable Ẹ̀gbá warlords in attempts to free their people from the adversities in the refugee camp of Máyẹ̀ and the Ọ̀yọ́-Ìjẹ̀bú-Ifẹ̀ allied forces in Ẹ̀bá Ọ̀dàn (Ìbàdàn). Lámọdi and Ṣódẹkẹ́ invoke the spirit of Ẹ̀gbá’s foremost freedom fighter, Líṣàbí Agbòngbò Àkàlà, and become extra fortified enough to rise against these oppressors. After years of continuous unbearable aggressions, repressions, injustices, sexual molestations, kidnappings, and trafficking of Ẹ̀gbá women and children, as well as severe sufferings under this yoke, Ẹ̀gbá strategizes on how to peacefully break out of these shackles, unfortunately, the what is supposed to be a civil break-up degenerates into a fatal war which claims the life of General Lámọdi, his wife and only son.

Owing to this bitter development, Séríkí Ṣódẹkẹ́, his lieutenant, takes over leadership in the principle of military necessity, with full determination, he wrathfully resists assailing Máyẹ̀ in a very brutal battle and emerges decisively victorious. Consequent to this victory for Ẹ̀gbá, Ṣódẹkẹ́ leads his people to a new settlement, Oko Adàgbà (now Abẹ́òkúta), where Ifa oracle predicts they will find solace and become very prosperous.
