Nora goes to Biafra in spite of her lover’s reservations and they are compelled to make drastic decisions against the backdrop of a brutal civil war and Nora’s medical condition which makes having another baby terribly risky. This is a story of tragic, heroic, and self-revealing love set against the background of one of Africa’s most terrible wars.
About the author.
Henry Chukwuemeka Onyema is a writer, historian, and teacher. He studied History and International Studies at Imo State University, Owerri. His fiction and non-fiction have been published in literary and non-literary media such as Kalahari Review, Brittle paper, naijastories.com, qwenu.com, author-me.com, africanwriter.com, SUN (Nigeria) newspaper, and the anthology ‘Rachel’s Academy Heroes and Other Stories.’ His short fiction has won prizes, including a highly commended award in the 2005 Commonwealth short story competition and the In-House Winner prize for the 2019 Magic Wand Romance Contest.
