Nneoma Michelle Egeonu is an international bestselling author, poet, and member of the International Women’s Writing Guild, USA and Guild of African Thriller Authors.
Nneoma is an avid reader with an eye for great literary pieces.
She describes herself as a writer with a profound message and believes in positively influencing society by bringing pertinent issues to the fore through effective storytelling.
Nneoma’s stories reflect on the complex realities of the human condition and cut across genres such as crime/psychological fiction, historical fiction and literary fiction.
In addition to fiction writing, she writes thought-provoking, non-fiction and poems.
Her works have been published in notable literary magazines and websites such as Fiery Scribe Review, Kalahari Review, Medium and the Sixth Chinua Achebe Poetry/Essay Anthology. Her poem “Chinua Achebe: The Man, The Magic, The Myth” won an award as one of the MOST OUTSTANDING ENTRIES.
Nneoma took the second position in the PRAWA Flash Fiction Contest in 2021.
Her debut work, an anthology of short stories titled “NIGHTMARE IN SICILY” is enjoyed by readers across the globe and was officially included in a post-graduate exam scheme at Imo State University, Nigeria.
Furthermore, NIGHTMARE IN SICILY was a FINALIST for the ABUBAKAR GIMBA PRIZE FOR SHORT STORIES organised by the Association of Nigerian Authors.
In addition to her writing, she is also a spoken word poet with her videos having thousands of views on YouTube.
Additionally, her poem titled ‘Land of Giants’ was used officially for the 2023 annual “REDISCOVER AFRICA” event organised by PACHEDU, a renowned charitable organisation that caters for the needs of ethnic minorities IN SCOTLAND, UK.
Nneoma is the organiser of the first-ever edition of the National Reading Contest for Children aged 11-16 in Nigeria.
She is also the founder of The Nneoma Michelle Egeonu Reading Initiative a Non-governmental organisation based in Nigeria, dedicated to advancing literacy and educational opportunities for young people.
Nneoma has concluded her Master’s in the United Kingdom. When she’s not writing and reading, she enjoys dancing, singing, travelling as well as watching thrillers/true-crime TV shows in her spare time.
