Edge of the Sun

Edge of the Sun is a coming-of-age novel set in Bodo, a vibrator town in South Southern Nigeria, along the serene banks of the Obunda River. The story follows the intertwined lives of Jaja and Sim, two spirited and headstrong youths whose misadventures and reckless choices lead them down unexpected paths. Fuelled by a burning desire for redemption, they embark on a journey of self-discovery, friendship and the quest for a better future. The novel delves into themes of growth, forgiveness, resilience and the unrelenting pull of one’s roots. Through their experiences, Jaja and Sim come to understand that escaping the shadows of their past is as elusive as trying to touch the edge of the sun itself in an impossible but transformative pursuit and the universal search for purpose and meaning.
