An alumnus of the University of Lagos, where he obtained his first degree in Business Administration and an M.Sc. in Economics (Manpower Planning). Dr G.O. Olowo acquired a Doctorate Degree awarded by Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa, Nigeria, in Business Administration, and Escae University, Cotonou, Republic of Benin in Technology. Dr. Olowo has served on several groups, committees, and panels, including the Ministerial Committee on Restructuring of Nigeria Airways Limited in September 2001, and the Ministerial Technical Committee on the Establishment of a new flag career in August 2003. He has also served as Chairman of the IATA Agency Investigation Panel (A.I.P) for West Africa and a Member of the Ecowas Parliament Committee on Implementation of the Yamoussoukro Treaty.
Olowo has attended several professional training courses across the world and he’s the current Chairman of Sabre Central and West Africa, America’s world’s largest software innovative technology provider for airlines and travel agencies. A member of the Nigeria-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, he has consistently supported Nigeria-US Business Development and exchange of commerce. The company identifies itself with celebrating the United States American Independence celebration in Nigeria every year. Dr Gabriel Olowo is the Founder and Chairman of InterGuide Group of Companies (InterGuide Air, InterGuide Academy, Sabre Global Technology-West Africa, GolfView Suites and Conference Centre).
Dr Olowo is also a member-Board of Trustees (BOT), at Ikeja Golf Club, Lagos. Dr Olowo’s deep and wide aviation experience has made him an acknowledged expert in airline and aviation business management. He has provided varied consultancy services in these areas and is an author of many aviation industry-related publications. Olowo is the first African to pioneer an aviation management curriculum at any university when Sabre Central and West Africa partnered with Babcock University for an MBA programme in Airlines Studies in 2018 aimed at producing employable human resources for future aviation leaders. He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), a Fellow Institute of Tourism Professional (FITP), a member of, the American Chamber of Commerce, the Nigeria-Brazil Chamber of Commerce, and the Industry-British Chamber of Commerce and a Member, Osun Development Board.
Dr Gabriel O. Olowo, a seasoned golfer, is married to Deaconess Stella Olubisi Olowo for upwards of 40 years and their marriage is blessed with children and grandchildren.
