About the Author
Dr. Steve Ono Mayo is a beacon of the Christian faith, with boundless love for God and a commitment to spreading the Gospel. His journey of Christian service began in his youth, serving in various capacities such as Evangelism Chairman for the Christian Union (CU) UNIBEN chapter (1982/83), Member of the Care-Taker Committee for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Fellowship in Bauchi chapter (1985), and as Zonal Representative for the Scripture Union (SU) Nigeria, Shomolu Kosofe Zone (1991-94). The pinnacle of his service in the Christian faith was his ordination as a Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (1994), where he has faithfully served for over three decades, both in Nigeria and Europe.
A graduate of the Department of Engineering (B. Eng) at the University of Benin (1984), Dr. Steve has enjoyed a distinguished career in Computer Engineering with training provided by UAC Nigeria, British Airways, UK, and Memorex Telex, Netherlands. In his pursuit of further skills and knowledge in Pastoral Ministry, he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology from the Redeemed Christian Bible
College, as well as a Master of Theology (M.TH) in Biblical Studies and a Doctorate degree in Ministry (D.MIN) from LIFE Theological Seminary, affiliated with the University of Ibadan. Additionally, he is a certified leader of the prestigious Haggai Institute. Among his unpublished works are papers on topics such as the Human Development Approach to Nation Building and Christian Social Responsibility and its
Implications for the Church.
Dr. Steve’s God-given mandate is to liberate people from the power of fear through the exposition of God’s Word, focusing on themes such as Love, Faith, Forgiveness, and the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ. A natural leader, teacher, and counsellor, many individuals in the church, workplace, and community have greatly benefited from his wealth of experience and wisdom.
Beyond his ministerial duties, Dr. Steve is a devoted husband to Pastor (Mrs.) Esther Mayo, who serves alongside him in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos, and an exemplary father to both their biological and spiritual children.
