About the Author
Gbolahan Babatunde Bakare, fondly called “Pastor Tunde Bakare or PTB,” is a pastor with an apostolic and prophetic mandate who has ministered locally and globally for over thirty-five years. He graduated from the University of Lagos in 1980 with an LLB Hons and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1981. He is also an entrepreneur, an author, a mentor, and a nation-builder. Born on November 11, 1954, and raised in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Pastor Bakare faced numerous challenges and struggles while growing up that have shaped his perspective on life and inspired him to become a nation-builder.
Pastor Bakare is the Serving Overseer of The Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), Lagos, Nigeria (formerly known as The Latter Rain Assembly – End-Time Church), and the presiding apostle of the Global Apostolic Impact Network (GAIN) – a network of churches, ministries, and kingdom businesses. He is also the president of Latter Rain Ministries Inc. (Church Development Center) based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and the founder of the International Centre for Reconstruction and Development (ICRD) – a think tank dedicated to the socio-political and economic re-engineering of Nigeria and other African states.
Among the various awards and honours Pastor Bakare has received for his exceptional leadership in nation-building and prophetic guidance include a Doctor of Ministry from Indiana Christian University in 1995, the 2010 Man of the Year award by Newswatch Magazine, the University of Lagos Golden Jubilee Distinguished Alumni Award in 2012 for his outstanding contributions and commitment to education and nation-building, and an honorary doctorate (LLD Honoris Causa) from Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, in 2024.
He is married to ‘Layide Bakare, and they are blessed with five children and grandchildren
