For too long, African art history has been narrated in fragments: Nok as a mystery, Ifẹ as a miracle, and Benin as an exception. This created an illusion of disconnected brilliance, obscuring the truth: a single, continuous civilisation of ideas.

THE HARBINGER restores this continuity. It reframes Art in Nigeria as a single, living continuum—an unbroken lineage from fired clay (Nok and Lower Benue) to the complex metals of Igbo-Ukwu and Ifẹ, through regalia and architecture, and into Modern and Contemporary Art in Nigeria.

This is not a documentation of objects; it is a declaration of lineage. Volume One prepares the gaze for the full four-part series, which culminates in: A Window into the Soul of A People: 8000 Years of Art in Nigeria.

This is not nostalgia. This is evidence.
