Sexual Violence in Nigeria: A Silent Epidemic was first published in 2013, was revised in 2017. This report is an attempt to document reported cases of violence against women and young girls in Nigeria, as reported in some daily newspapers; and to non-governmental organizations across the country. Sexual Violence especially was seemingly on the increase, with an increased number of cases being reported, this report is an analysis of 155 cases reported across 6 geo-political zones in Nigeria and the FCT, Abuja.
This report aims to address the dearth in statistics and documentation of sexual violence in Nigeria.
