About the Author
Sir Celestine Ngozichim Omehia, born on September 15, 1959, in Rivers State, is a Nigerian lawyer and politician. He earned a Law degree from Manchester Metropolitan University and a Master’s in International Law from the University of Hull. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986, he built a notable legal career.
Omehia served as Rivers State Commissioner of Education (1992–1993) and later advised Governor Peter Odili. Elected as Governor in April 2007, he served briefly from May to October, focusing on resolving the Niger Delta crisis. A strong advocate for constitutional reforms and federalism, his writings reflect his commitment to democratic principles. He is married to Professor A. E. Omehia, and they have three children: Keturah, Kelachi, and Kechikamna.
