Little regard is given to women from what is perceived to be the acceptable demeanour of a man in the heart of a village in the Northern Parts of Nigeria.
Aduke, Ajifa, and Iye Rekiye who represents a huge chunk of women who desire freedom from silence, domestic violence, emotional trauma and abuse, fight dearly for it after discovering that all they believed to be true culture may as well as be regarded as untrue and fake. This comes to them after weighing what they have to suffer and bear just so they don’t be punished by the gods of the land. They are angry. They want freedom from it all and the only way this can be achieved is by taking the bull by its dreary horn without looking back.
Aduke whose particular pattern was to sulk and cry after any clash with her husband, Jibril, is strengthened by Iye Rekiye whose captivating story births the fighter in her during the genesis of her child’s spiritual attack in her room. She finally finds a defence mechanism that curtailed her husband’s excesses at home and later paved way for her liberty.
Iye Rekiye who had to nurse the longing for her husband who left for the city to never come back must hold on to herself and never be promiscuous so as not to incur the wrath of the gods of the land. She must be faithful even when her husband is not. She wakes up to the reality that life must go on and that she must be sensitive to those close to her.

Igala women is a must have piece, as it enlightens us on how beautiful, hardworking, submissive, indefatigable and faithfull, igala women are. They love and sacrifice alot naturally but end up being heartbroken by the persons they loved and care for.
