About the Author

Uduak-Abasi Akpabio has a first degree in law; a Master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies from the European Peace University (EPU), Austria, and is a certified PRINCE 2 project management practitioner. Amongst other career experiences, Uduak-Abasi has worked: with a United Nations Mission as a Civil Affairs Officer; as a trainee with the European Union Fundamental Rights Agency, Vienna; with the British High Commission as Regional Conflict/Programme Officer – West Africa and; as a consultant designing programmes and facilitating sessions on peace-building and good governance. She is a member of the AU Civilian Capacity Standby Force and is currently working in the Political Team of the German Embassy in Abuja.

Uduak is the author of the books: 1. PEACE BY PIECE: Harnessing Peace, Conflict and Dialogue. 2. EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW PEACE AND CONFLICT 3. EVERY YOUTH SHOULD KNOW PEACE AND CONFLICT’ and 4. EVERY CHILD SHOULD KNOW PEACE AND CONFLICT. In 2020, she was a speaker at the Nigeria edition of the UN75 Inter-Generational Dialogue. She is also An Association of Montessori International/USA Annual Conference 2024 speaker. Uduak is the organizer of the Peace Art Competition for Children and the Peace Tale Competition for Youths in Nigeria.

She has almost 2 decades of experience working on issues of peace, conflict, political space, and governance. She is passionate about facilitating positive attitudes and mindsets on the issues of peace, governance, lifestyle, faith, and African representation. Uduak-Abasi is also an entrepreneur.
