A seasoned educationist, philanthropist, former federal legislator, and mass communication expert, Dr Stella O. Ayamara Dorgu has devoted her life to public service, women’s empowerment, and the welfare of the elderly.
She holds a PhD in Mass Communications from the prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University, with a strong background in public communications and gerontology—equipping her with both the voice and vision to lead elder-focused advocacy in Nigeria.
Dr Dorgu has served in the Federal House of Representatives and has held numerous leadership positions, including Director General of the National Centre for Women Development, Pioneer Coordinator of the Bayelsa Poverty Alleviation Agency, and Special Assistant under the National Poverty Eradication Programme.
Her experience as a broadcaster, community mobilizer, and policy advocate fuels her passion for QuarterPast 65, a platform she founded to restore dignity to elders, preserve their stories, and inspire the next generation through wisdom-driven dialogue.
A devoted Catholic, loving mother and grandmother, Dr Dorgu remains the heartbeat behind the Ayamara Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations.
