Max Siollun is a writer and Nigerian historian with extensive knowledge of Nigerian military history. Siollun’s objective writing has established him as a respected and distinctive voice on Nigerian history. His book “Oil, Politics and Violence: Nigeria’s Military Coup Culture (1966-1976)” has been one of the most well-received Nigerian history books of recent times. Various commentators have referred to it as “a breath-taking narrative”, “stunning” and “a revelation”. His next book “Soldiers of Fortune: Nigerian Politics under Buhari and Babangida (1983-1993)” continues from where Oil, Politics and Violence ended, and will be published later this year by Cassava Republic Press. He is a graduate of the University of London and has resides in the UK and USA.
