Education and Career
Debola is a dynamic professional with over 16 years of valuable experience garnered in diverse, challenging roles. She works at American Tower Corporation (ATC), a Fortune 500, S&P 500, and Forbes Global 2000 company that provides the infrastructure for modern digital communications, with the vision of building a more connected world.
In her current role as Chief Operating Officer for ATC Nigeria, she oversees the daily operations of the company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across multiple departments. With a strong focus on strategic planning, she collaborates closely with the CEO to implement the company’s vision and goals. She also focuses on the assessment of operational risks and ensuring that there are adequate controls in place to mitigate them. Before her current role, Debola was the Head of Operational Services for ATC Africa, where she supported in-country Operations Leaders in seven African countries to achieve key business objectives. Before joining AT,C Debola worked with the advisory team of KPMG Professional Services for five (5) years.
Debola holds executive education from MIT, INSEAD, and Oxford, and graduated with distinction honors for her MBA and BSc in Biochemistry.
Social Impact Work
In 2020, Debola authored her first book titled “FREE”, a book that reveals how six successful women were sexually abused when they were children. It highlights precautions that could be taken to avoid sexual abuse and emphasizes the importance of parenting in curbing it. FREE is available for purchase in French and English on Amazon.
She founded the Mantle of Mordecai (MOM) Foundation to reduce out-of-school children in Nigeria and Africa. Debola is the Country Ambassador for Nigeria and Executive Secretary of the Board for Rise & Lead Women Netherlands- a global knowledge sharing, education and advocacy platform that connects leaders, emerging leaders, NGOs and change-makers to promote the inclusion of women in leadership in the workplace, marketplace and society to foster peace and prosperity in the world.
Debola also volunteers as a mentor at Cherie Blair Foundation, a UK-based non-profit with the mission to empower women to start, grow and sustain successful businesses, so they can redefine the future for themselves and their societies. She has also previously volunteered as a mentor at The Tony Elumelu Foundation, tasked with empowering young entrepreneurs in Africa.
Debola is also a Crans Montana Forum “New Leader for Tomorrow” 2015 cohort, a unique Community of young leaders from Africa, the Arab World, Far Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South America and the Far East selected due to exceptional professional achievement and leadership experience in Businesses and Governments.
Debola is currently a member of the Governing Board at Brampton Primary School in the United Kingdom. Alongside fellow board members, she leverages her expertise to assist the school’s faculty in fulfilling their primary goal of delivering high-quality education to students.
Debola is happily married to her best friend, Olasunkanmi.
