From the beginning of time people have left their places of birth to seek opportunities and adventure in foreign lands. The reasons people leave familiar homelands for unfamiliar territories are endless.

This book is a collection of the author’s experiences as a Nigerian immigrant to the United States: from her experience as an international student, maneuvering the culture shock of Boston, to her life as a permanent resident navigating new ideas and perspectives, and the adventures that America has to offer.

Description

About the author.

Oreoluwa was born in Lagos, Nigeria where she grew up with 3 younger siblings. At 24, she decided to move to the United States to pursue graduate studies. She ended up in Boston, Massachusetts where she fell in love with both the city and the man of her dreams. She then moved to New Hampshire with her husband- a decision she regrets every winter.

She is a pharmacist, mother, and the founder of Pick-A-Book Initiative, a non-profit tailored towards improving literacy among underprivileged children in Lagos, Nigeria.

She has written 3 books, with “You Speak Good English for a Nigerian” being her first published work. Her current project is a children’s book, inspired by her 2-year-old daughter. She hopes to finally get around to publishing the rest of her books soon.
