I choose to give thanks, expands on the scripture, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (KJV). This verse is well-used for various purposes including exhortation, encouragement and consolation.
Dr Chinyere Almona, shares some of her reflections on developing and leveraging an attitude of gratitude during a period of grief. She discovered that thanksgiving became her tool to deal with the roller-coaster of emotions that emerged in the wake of the sudden loss of her mum.

Dr Chinyere Almona is a versatile inspirational speaker and dynamic Bible teacher, her overarching purpose is to inspire people to love and live by the Word of God. She is also the author of three other books, Divine Orchestration, Divine Intervention and Divine Guarantee. And she has been involved in active ministerial work for over twenty-six years.
She is passionate about leadership and people development. Professionally, she is a corporate governance adviser and currently leads series of corporate governance interventions across sub-Saharan Africa. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria, an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Directors (Ghana), and holds a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration from Business School Netherlands. In her spare time, she provides guidance and counseling for women, youths, and teenagers.
