12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos

What does everyone in the modern world need to know? Renowned psychologist Jordan B. Peterson's answer to this most difficult of questions uniquely combines the hard-won truths of ancient tradition with the stunning revelations of cutting-edge scientific research. Humorous, surprising, and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street. What does the nervous system of the lowly lobster have to tell us about standing up straight (with our shoulders back) and about success in life? Why did ancient Egyptians worship the capacity to pay careful attention as the highest of gods? What dreadful paths do people tread when they become resentful, arrogant, and vengeful? Dr. Peterson journeys broadly, discussing discipline, freedom, adventure, and responsibility, distilling the world's wisdom into 12 practical and profound rules for life. 12 Rules for Life shatters the modern commonplaces of science, faith, and human nature while transforming and ennobling the mind and spirit of its listeners.

    40 Chances

With a foreword by Warren Buffett, 40 Chances is an “inspiring manifesto…both an informative guidebook and a catalyst for igniting real changes” (Booklist) in the struggle against world hunger. If someone granted you $3 billion to accomplish something great in the world, what would you do? In 2006, legendary investor Warren Buffett posed this challenge to his son Howard G. Buffett. Howard set out to help the most vulnerable people on earth—nearly a billion individuals who lack basic food security. And Howard gave himself a deadline: 40 years to put the resources to work on this challenge. 40 Chances: Finding Hope in a Hungry World captures Howard’s journey. Beginning with his love for farming, we join him around the world as he seeks out new approaches to ease the suffering of so many. Each of the 40 stories here provides a compelling look at the lessons Howard learned, ranging from his own backyard to some of the most difficult and dangerous places on Earth. But this message goes beyond the pages of this book, it’s also a mindset: a way of thinking that speaks to every person wanting to make a difference. It’s about reasons to hope and actions we can take. 40 Chances “recounts Howard’s personal and professional experiences in surprisingly candid and colorful fashion…successfully blending personal stories with a tough look at the struggle to fight domestic food scarcity and world hunger…A satisfying read” (Publishers Weekly) that provides inspiration to transform each of our limited chances into opportunities to change the world.

49 Ways To Get Rid Of “the Other Woman” – without Getting Caught

49 Ways to Get Rid of The Other Woman Without Getting Caught is a book that deals with the major issue of infidelity in marriage. The book explores the subject through the lens of a wife, seeking to oust the other woman, an intruder, who is threatening her territory. In the pages, Amaka Chika-Mbonu presents a 49-day programme of warfare, both spiritual and temporal, for all couples, to wrestle with the evil of infidelity and adultery. She uses riveting stories—loosely based on true facts garnered over fifteen years as a marital counsellor, using the enshrined word of God—to teach practical lessons. It contains chronicle of laws, petitions, and supplications. The tone is militant, violent and aggressive, and as in regular warfare, there will be casualties. It is essentially a manual for spiritual warfare.

    Abduction Chronicles

    Abduction Chronicles

Kidnapping in the Niger Delta has been an ongoing phenomenon since around 2008. Starting from the kidnapping of expatriate oil workers by the militants, the scourge of kidnapping had progressively unravelled till it has now become so common place that anyone potentially is a target for the assortment of kidnapping groups that have since plagued the region. The author was kidnapped on the 1st of May 2016 from his home in Port Harcourt in very interesting circumstances. Gunmen stormed his home in the Rumuomasi area of Port Harcourt in the middle of the night, shot their way in to the house and after robbing them clean of valuables, proceeded to make away with the head of the house. This began a journey into the hinterlands of the Niger Delta creeks as he was held for ransom for 4 days and 4nights in the most excruciating conditions. The story is not simply of his experience in the captivity; it Is not even all about the intrigues of how the author, who happens to be a Pastor of a small branch of a major church navigated his way through captivity, nor just of his perilous and near death experiences of his journey back to mainland Port Harcourt after his release, having paid ransom. Rather the story captures the real reason for the kidnap. The book recorded the stories of the authors experiences in captivity, and his feelings and thoughts about the event, the gang, the community where he was held, and the impact of this negative influence upon the society at large. The author spoke about how it turns out that he had been sent to minister deliverance to the gang leader in captivity, and how God gave him a number of prophecies to be shared with the gang leader (including the fact that he will soon become a Pastor of a church that he will build for God) and his men; also concerning the land of the Kalabaris that had become scourged with violence and bloodshed. In short, the author’s experience narrated in the book tells the story of how the hunter became the hunted. The high point of the book was the author’s bloody walk through the swamplands of the delta as he tried to get to land and be reunited back to his family after the ordeal, and the amazing kindness of ordinary fishermen who came to his aid when he had almost given up on the effort to stay alive.

Media personality and founder of Amputees United, Adenike Oyetunde is releasing a new book named after her. She’s sharing her inspiring story in the new book. Adenike was 20 when she got the news that would change her life. She was in her sophomore year in the university and was at home one weekend when she slipped and landed on her right knee while doing chores. This caused a pain that defied painkillers. She was eventually taken to the hospital and was told she had a blood clot due to the fall and the limb had to be drained out. After this, she went back to school but her condition kept deteriorating. Another x-ray revealed that the clot was still there. This was when she was referred to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi. She was later diagnosed with Osteogenic Sarcoma (a malignant bone tumor) and was told her right leg had to be amputated to save her life. Congratulations, Adenike!
